Newport Police have been investigating an assault that took place at 1:38 a.m. on Saturday, January 16th on Bliss Road near Wilbur Avenue. As a result of the assault a 28 year old Newport man sustained serious head injuries and remains hospitalized.

The Newport Police announced on January 25th that they have identified Freddie Hicks (DOB: 11-16-88) as an individual and that is wanted for the assault.
UPDATE: On January 25th, Newport Police updated the date of birth to 12-17-1990.
