Salve Regina University rose eight places to 16th among regional universities in the North in the 2027 U.S. News & World Report college rankings released Tuesday.
The university also appeared on U.S. News lists for best value, social mobility, undergraduate teaching, and undergraduate nursing and psychology programs in the region.
In the Princeton Review’s 2027 guide, Salve was again named among the 392 best colleges in the country. Its McKillop Library made the guide’s list of the 25 best college libraries, and its health services ranked sixth nationally. The school also appeared on the Princeton Review’s lists for green colleges, most beautiful campuses, community service and college town.
Time magazine included Salve on its 2026-27 list of America’s Best Colleges, and Niche again named it among the best college locations. The campus has also appeared on “most beautiful campus” lists from Architectural Digest and Business Insider.
Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1947, Salve enrolls more than 2,700 students in over 60 programs.
