Emily Manocchio starts Monday, Sept. 14, as director of advancement at the Newport Art Museum, where she will lead fundraising and philanthropic strategy alongside Executive Director Harry Philbrick and the board of trustees.
Manocchio comes from Newport Hospital, part of the Brown University Health system, where she was interim philanthropy director and coordinated a $2.6 million campaign that brought Rhode Island’s first da Vinci 5 robotic surgical system to the hospital. She spent nearly four years there before that as senior donor relations officer.
Earlier she worked more than a decade at Newport Hospitality, the destination management and event planning firm, rising to director of event operations and overseeing 60 to 70 large corporate events a year.
“Emily brings exactly the kind of relationship-driven leadership upon which our advancement program is built,” Philbrick said, citing her work with donors and community partners in Newport.
Manocchio said she looked forward to building on momentum already underway at the museum and growing its base of philanthropic support.
She holds bachelor’s degrees in public relations and communications from the University of Rhode Island.
