TIVERTON — Tiverton High School celebrated the graduation of its Class of 2026 at a commencement ceremony Friday, June 5.

Principal João Arruda delivered the opening remarks, presented the diplomas and gave the closing remarks. Superintendent Christopher Haskins offered greetings to the crowd. Salutatorian Evan Duda introduced the commencement speaker, Christine Messenger, a member of the Class of 1969, who delivered the commencement address. The Tiverton High School Band, conducted by Luke Bayne, performed throughout the ceremony, opening with “Pomp and Circumstance” and the national anthem and later playing “Across the Stars” from “Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones.” Sousa led the turning of the tassel, and the ceremony closed with a recessional set to “Eye of the Tiger.” Arruda was assisted in presenting diplomas by Dean of Students Rachel Motta, a 2008 graduate, and class advisors Jennifer Landoch (Class of 1992) and Grace Carreiro (Class of 2014).

The program noted graduates who are members of the National Honor Society, the Rhode Island Honor Society, and the Career and Technical Education program. Class marshals were Noah Thomas and Amalya Gaudreau.
