Katharine Dain

Puddingstone Music returns to Rough Point mansion for an intimate concert on Wednesday, April 15, at 7 p.m., opening its spring series with “This Love Between Us,” a program of song and chamber music inspired by composer Reena Esmail’s meditation on shared humanity.

The evening features soprano Katharine Dain, Grammy Award-winning violist Caitlin Lynch and Lithuanian pianist Ieva Jokūbavičiūtė. The program draws on works by Brahms, Robert and Clara Schumann, Schubert, Bridge, Lanzilotti and Esmail, tracing themes of tenderness, longing and enduring love.

Dain performs opera and chamber music on international stages and has served as artist-in-residence with Finland’s Tapiola Sinfonietta. Lynch, violist of the Aeolus String Quartet and co-artistic director of the conductorless chamber orchestra A Far Cry, has performed at venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House. Jokūbavičiūtė has earned praise from The New York Times and The Washington Post for performances described as possessing “razor-sharp intelligence and wit.”

Tickets include small bites, drinks and parking. Advance tickets are available at PuddingstoneMusic.org.
