2026 Ragged Island Music Festival (Ragged Island Brewing)

Ragged Island Brewing Co. will bring live music back to the meadows this summer with its third annual Ragged Island Music Festival, presented by Northeast Alternatives, on Saturday and Sunday, June 13-14.

The two-day, family-friendly festival at the Portsmouth brewery and farm at 54 Bristol Ferry Rd. will feature a full stage with professional sound and lighting, multiple bars and food vendors across the grounds.

Saturday’s lineup includes the Aldous Collins Band, IRIEspect, Michael Glabicki Duo, Shwayze and Ripe. Sunday’s bill features Over the Bridge, Nena Belen, The Slacker, Third World and Black Uhuru.

Doors open at 7 a.m. each day. Only 1,000 tickets are available per day, and attendees who wish to go both days will need to purchase separate tickets for each. No refunds will be issued.

General admission tickets are $71.24 per day, including fees. Kids under 13 can get in for $65.96 per day, including fees. Sales tax is calculated at checkout.

Organizers ask that guests leave coolers and outside food and beverages at home. Bags will be checked at the festival entrance, and all water bottles must be empty upon entry. Water filling stations will be available throughout the festival grounds. Re-entry is not permitted.

Beach chairs and blankets are welcome. Parking is available on-site, and carpooling is encouraged.

Ryan Belmore is the owner and publisher of What's Up Newp. He took over the publication in 2012 and has grown it into a three-time Rhode Island Monthly Best Local News Blog (2018, 2019, 2020).

He was named LION Publishers Member of the Year in 2020 and received the Dominique Award from the Arts & Cultural Society of Newport County the same year. He has been awarded grants for investigative and community journalism, and continues to coach and mentor new local news publications nationwide.

Ryan is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, Online News Association, and Local Independent Online News Publishers. He is committed to the codes of ethics of these organizations: accuracy, independence, accountability, and transparency.

In Newport, Ryan served on the boards of the Fort Adams Trust and Potter League for Animals, and hosted a daily radio talk show for four years.

In 2021, Ryan moved to Alexandria, Virginia, to support his wife Jen's career. He launched The Alexandria Brief in 2025, applying what he learned in Newport to a new community. With the help of some talented on-the-ground contributors, he still runs What's Up Newp — and always will.
