David Leroy Addison
March 20, 1954 – January 23, 2026
David Leroy Addison, age 71, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River, MA, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born and raised in Newport, Rhode Island he spent his life as a professional fisherman and a talented freelance painter, leaving his mark on the island he called home.
David was a devoted family man who thrived during family gatherings. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, and his absolute pride and joy was being a great-grandfather.
He was a passionate fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Bruins, rarely missing a chance to cheer on his favorite teams. Music was his soul’s language-he loved attending concerts and sharing his favorite songs with those he loved. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
David was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Leroy Addison of Newport, and his sister, Dolores Saunders of Philadelphia, PA.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. He is survived by his sister,
Michelle Amado of Rochester, NY; his three children, David A. Addison, Kristin E. Williams, and Nathan B. Williams; his three grandchildren, Alexis Williams-Cook, Logan Addison, and Cole Addison; and his great-grandchild, Darrèll Landreth.
His services will be private.
