A tribute concert celebrating the iconic music of the 1960s British Invasion era is headed to Newport this spring.

Spectacle Live will present “The British Invasion Years — A ’60s Musical Revolution” on Sunday, April 26, at 7 p.m. at the JPT Film & Event Center. Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m. at JanePickens.com or by calling 1-800-657-8774.

The retrospective showcases hits from British chart-toppers including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Who, The Moody Blues and The Zombies, alongside American acts who rose to prominence during the era such as The Monkees, The Turtles, Steppenwolf, The Beach Boys, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons and The Mamas and The Papas.

In 1964, bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones exploded onto the American music scene, prompting U.S. artists to respond with hits of their own. The back-and-forth between British and American musicians created what many consider the most dynamic and influential era in music history.

The show features a multimedia backdrop and seasoned musicians who have shared the stage with and opened for rock legends. The performance culminates in a finale of Beatles classics performed as if by the Fab Four today.
