After a successful sold-out Summer Festival last month, Puddingstone Music is continuing its 2025 concert series with an intimate evening of fingerstyle guitar mastery at one of Newport’s most elegant venues.
The organization will present “Phoenix Rising: The Artistry of Calum Graham” on Saturday, August 9th at 6:00 PM at Rough Point, located at 680 Bellevue Avenue. The concert promises to showcase one of the world’s leading fingerstyle guitarists in an intimate setting that perfectly complements his acoustic artistry.
Graham’s performances are renowned for their technical brilliance and emotional depth, featuring his mastery of acoustic, baritone, and harp guitars. His original compositions seamlessly blend folk, world, soul, blues, and jazz elements, all anchored by his signature fingerstyle technique that has earned him recognition from fellow musicians.
“The most promising young guitarist I’ve seen. His command of the guitar is already really impressive!” said professional guitarist Andy McKee. Pranshu Nigam, another professional guitarist, praised Graham as “one of the best fingerstyle guitarists of all time.”
The evening will begin with a pre-concert dance performance featuring Deanna Gerde, dancer-in-residence Katie Moorhead, and what organizers describe as a “special surprise musical guest.” This collaborative element reflects Puddingstone’s commitment to presenting multidisciplinary artistic experiences.
Attendees can enjoy a cash bar featuring drinks from Bow Bar, while small bites are included in the ticket price. The venue’s limited seating ensures an intimate and immersive experience for concertgoers.
Doors open at 5:30 PM, with the show running from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Advance tickets are priced at $80.00 and are available through PuddingstoneFestival.com/events.
The August concert continues Puddingstone’s mission of bringing exceptional musical experiences to Newport’s cultural landscape, building on the momentum of their recent sold-out summer event.
