Helly Hansen, the well-known sailing brand, is opening a new flagship store in Newport this week.
The store, spanning 6,400 square feet at 124 Thames St., is set to open on April 4, 2025. It will offer a wide selection of technical sailing gear, shoes, marine lifestyle products, and outdoor equipment.
Paul Gillen, VP of Direct to Consumer at Helly Hansen, says, “We’re thrilled to open in Newport with a new flagship store that shows our ongoing commitment to the community. This bigger location lets us serve our loyal customers in the area and introduce Helly Hansen to more sailors and outdoor enthusiasts.”
The Newport store is part of Helly Hansen’s plan to expand in key North American markets. It will be the company’s 14th brand store in the U.S. and Canada, with another store opening in Denver, Colorado, in mid-April.
To mark the grand opening, Helly Hansen will give out gift bags to the first customers and run several promotions. They’re planning a bigger celebration later in the spring.
The store will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will feature Helly Hansen’s Spring/Summer 2025 Collection, including new styles and updated favorites designed for tough conditions.
