A Jamestown police officer’s sharp instincts kept him out of harm’s way during a recent roadside incident.

Officer Liam Robberson was talking to a driver on Route 138 when a car came barreling towards him. Robberson jumped to safety just in time, then chased down and caught the reckless driver.

The Jamestown Police Department shared video of the close call on their social media Tuesday night.

“Officer Robberson’s quick thinking kept him and the stopped driver safe, and we got a dangerous driver off the road,” the department’s Facebook post says.

The driver faces charges of DUI, reckless driving, and refusing a chemical test.

The police are using this incident to highlight the dangers faced by first responders and road workers.

“Remember to slow down and move over when you see flashing lights – it’s not just courteous, it’s the law!” the post reminds everyone.
