Bristol, RI – Motorists using the Mount Hope Bridge should expect continued delays next week as the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority continues its inspection of the bridge. The inspection will take place daily from 9 am to 3 pm between November 13-15.
One lane of the bridge will be closed during the inspection hours, with traffic alternating directions. The Authority advises drivers to allow for extra travel time to account for potential delays.
Lori Caron Silveira, Executive Director of the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority, apologized for any inconvenience caused by the ongoing bridge inspection that will lead to additional delays. “The inspection is thorough, and it is essential to ensure the safety of the bridge. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this necessary work.”
