Lars Stigbjorn Lewander, age 81, passed away on October 15, 2024, in Middletown, RI.
Born in Stockholm, Sweden on November 16, 1942, Lars led a life marked by innovation and leadership, notably as the founder and president of Teakdecking Systems in Sarasota, FL.
Lars is survived by his partner Sigrid Schoenebeck, and her children, Jessica, and Yuri; his brother Jan Lewander; his grandsons, Joel, and Filip; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ann-Cathrine Lewander; his daughter, Maria Lewander Androutsos; his sister, Barbro Lewander and his parents, Stig and Rut Lewander.
His legacy in the maritime industry and his impact on family and friends remain enduring memories for all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held in Sarasota, FL at a later date.
