The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) wants to hear from the public about their safety concerns in an effort to improve safety for bus riders, cyclists, and drivers.
As part of the RI Safe Streets for All project, RIPTA is launching a survey to get feedback on transportation safety. The survey is open now through September 30, and residents can complete it online.
“Safety is a top priority for everyone traveling in Rhode Island, and this initiative will help make walking, biking and taking transit safer for Rhode Islanders,” said interim Chief Executive Officer Christopher Durand. “I encourage everyone to participate in this survey and share their valuable feedback to help us build safer streets.”
The survey asks about safety challenges and concerns on a map. People can also comment on specific safety issues they face in their daily lives.
RIPTA says the goal of the project is to help local governments and transit providers identify priority areas for safety improvements, and then apply for federal grants to pay for those improvements.
The project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration’s Safe Streets and Roads for All program.

Thanks for the great content… the link to the survey for Rhode Island “Safe streets” is not working for me. Only leads to a home page for the initiative. I couldn’t find a survey there either.
