PPAC unveils 2026/2027 season featuring six new Broadway shows

On Tuesday morning, the management team at the Providence Performing Arts Center unveiled its 2026/2027 season in the theater’s grand lobby.

Alan Chille, PPAC’s new president and CEO, first announced the Broadway season, sponsored by The Taco and The White Family Foundation. Chille was excited that all six of these shows are new:

  • Operation Mincemeat – September 20 thru 26, 2026
  • The Great Gatsby – November 3 thru 8, 2026
  • Alicia Keys’ Hell’s Kitchen – December 15 thru 20, 2026
  • Death Becomes Her – January 26 thru 31, 2027
  • The Notebook – February 9 thru 14, 2027
  • Maybe Happy Ending – February 23 thru 28, 2027 (winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical)

Chille added that the Operation Mincemeat national tour will launch from PPAC – always exciting for the facility. “Activity will start three weeks before the opening,” said Chille after the formal statements. “One hundred people will come here. Tech, cast, and crew.” That, says Chille, brings an economic boom to the city. “Hotels, restaurants and more will benefit,” said Chille. “The city will swell with activity.”

A new holiday show, Cirque du Soleil’s Twas the Night Before will have a two-week holiday engagement, November 24 thru December 6, 2026. This is the first time that Cirque has appeared at PPAC, said Chille. The show involves a three-day load-in, and equipment will be attached to PPAC’s walls and support apparatus.

The Encore Series includes shows that have played at PPAC before:

  • The Bodyguard – October 23 thru 25, 2026
  • A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical – March 9 thru 14, 2027
  •  Jersey Boys – May 11 thru 16, 2026

To close out the season announcement event, two performers from Alicia Key’s Hell’s Kitchen performed a medley of songs from the show. Kelsee Kimmel and Lulu Oro Hamlett were both in the show’s Broadway production.

As PPAC’s Chairman of the Board, Joe Walsh, promised at the top of the event, “Another great season.”
