Veteran Car Tour (Audrain Motorsport)

Audrain Motorsport is expanding its Veteran Car Tour into a full weekend event this spring, bringing rare brass-era automobiles to the streets of Newport and Bristol in what organizers are calling one of the most significant gatherings of early American automobiles in the country.

The event is scheduled for May 16-18, with opening activities beginning the morning of May 16 with a short drive through Newport, followed by a luncheon at The Vanderbilt, Auberge Collection. Two days of scenic touring through Newport and Bristol will follow.

“This tour is quickly becoming one of the most meaningful brass-era gatherings in the country,” said Nic Waller, president of the Audrain Group. “Seeing these veteran cars on the road is both a tribute to the earliest days of the automobile and a reminder of why Newport, Rhode Island remains such a special home for motoring culture.”

Collectors and enthusiasts from across New England and the United States are expected to bring rare and historically significant vehicles — many seldom seen outside private collections — to the roads of a region long celebrated for its motoring heritage.

Collectors with brass-era vehicles may register at $395 per car, which includes admission for two people, all driving activities, Saturday lunch, and Sunday breakfast and lunch. Registration is available online through Audrain Motorsport.
