401 Gives returns on March 31, 2026. (401 Gives)

The momentum behind 401Gives shows no signs of slowing down.

By 5:17 p.m. Tuesday, the statewide day of giving had surpassed $2.5 million raised — more than halfway to its overall goal — with more than 15,860 donations pouring in from over 10,200 individual donors in less than 12 hours.

A record 658 nonprofits have received gifts so far this year, including 116 organizations participating in 401Gives for the first time. Among them are Stable Strides Foundation, which raised $2,155 from 32 donors, and Pet Refuge, which topped $2,200. Fifty-six nonprofits have already surpassed $10,000 in donations, with the Audubon Society of Rhode Island leading the way at $102,066, followed by Community MusicWorks at $40,480.

“401Gives is an incredible display of Rhode Islanders helping Rhode Islanders and a powerful reminder of what’s possible when our community comes together,” said Caitlynn Douglas, director of 401Gives. “Today doesn’t just raise funds to support important programs and services, it makes philanthropy visible across our state and highlights just how essential nonprofits are to our neighbors and to our communities.”

Giving continues through 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 1. Donors can contribute to any of more than 700 Rhode Island-based nonprofits at 401Gives.org by searching by cause, community or location.
