With deep love and heavy hearts, the O’Loughlin family announces the passing of Elisabeth O’Loughlin, who left this world peacefully on January 27, 2026, at the age of 84.
Born June 21, 1941 in Wiesbaden, Germany, Elisabeth’s life began across an ocean but grew into a legacy rooted in family, love, and extraordinary resilience.
Elisabeth shared 61 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband James O’Loughlin, with whom she built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Their bond was the foundation of a family that meant everything to her.
She now reunites in eternal peace with her husband, James, and her dearly missed sons, John O’Loughlin and Dieter Hollweg, and great-grandson Hudson O’Loughlin, whom she carried in her heart every day.
Elisabeth’s love continues to live on through her children, who were her pride and greatest joy: Cathy O’Loughlin Pina, Elisabeth O’Loughlin, Barbara O’Loughlin Sullivan, and James O’Loughlin.
Nothing brought her more happiness than being surrounded by her many grandchildren and great‑grandchildren, each of whom she adored with endless affection. She cherished every hug, every milestone, and every moment spent watching her family grow.
Elisabeth will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her deep compassion, and her remarkable ability to make everyone she encountered feel valued and loved. Her kindness was effortless, her strength quiet but constant, and her presence a source of comfort to all who knew her.
Though she has left this earthly home, Elisabeth’s legacy endures in the traditions she passed down, the love she gave freely, and the family she nurtured with her whole heart. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and always remembered.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, February 8th, from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm in the O’Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring St, Newport. Memorial services will begin at 4:00 pm.
