Robert Redford in The Natural (The JPT)

The Jane Pickens Theater & Event Center is paying tribute to two of cinema’s most enduring icons with a pair of curated film series celebrating Diane Keaton and the late Robert Redford.

The two installments of the theater’s JPT Collection series will run from late February through May, screening some of the most celebrated films from each artist’s career.

“Diane Keaton: A Woman To Love” highlights the range of an actress whose career has spanned more than five decades. The series title borrows from “Something’s Gotta Give,” where Keaton’s character is memorably described as “a woman to love.” The lineup includes “Annie Hall” on Feb. 25, “Reds” on March 4, “Father of the Bride” on April 15 and “The Godfather” on May 20.

“Remembering Robert Redford” celebrates the legendary actor, director, activist and founder of the Sundance Film Festival. The series features “All the President’s Men” on March 3 and “The Natural” on March 25.

All screenings take place at the Jane Pickens Theater, located in Washington Square in the heart of historic Newport. The theater, housed in a landmark building originally constructed in 1834 as a church, has been showing movies since the silent era of the 1920s and is the only movie house on Aquidneck Island.
