Theatre By The Sea

Theatre By The Sea has announced its 2026 summer season, featuring four musicals at the historic seaside playhouse.

Owner and producer Bill Hanney will open the season with “Little Shop of Horrors,” the sci-fi musical comedy about a hapless floral assistant who discovers a carnivorous plant with sinister intentions. The show runs May 28 through June 20.

“Grease” follows from June 25 through July 18, bringing the story of Danny and Sandy at Rydell High to the Matunuck stage with hits including “You’re The One That I Want” and “Hopelessly Devoted To You.”

The five-time Tony Award-winning “Titanic The Broadway Musical” runs July 23 through Aug. 15, telling the stories of passengers aboard the ill-fated ocean liner.

The season closes with “On Your Feet!” from Aug. 20 through Sept. 13. The musical chronicles the rise of Gloria and Emilio Estefan from Cuba to international stardom, featuring songs such as “Conga,” “Get On Your Feet” and “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You.”

Subscriptions are now available. Order forms can be downloaded at theatrebythesea.com or requested by calling the box office at 401-782-8587, Monday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.

Theatre By The Sea first opened on Aug. 7, 1933. Hanney purchased the property in 2007 and reopened the theater that same year.
