Ian Carpenter passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, who meant everything to him. He was incredibly intelligent, endlessly kind, and generous in ways both big and small. He has a wicked sense of humor and a talent for catching people off guard with a perfectly timed comment, followed by that familiar smile.
Born in London, England, Ian grew up loving soccer and went on to play semiprofessional football in the United Kingdom. In 1985, he moved to the United States and built a life rooted in hard work, loyalty, and care for others. He quite literally built the homes his family lived in, pouring thought and pride into every detail and making sure they were solid, safe, and full of love.
He shared 56 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Elizabeth. Their life together was steady and devoted, a true partnership and the foundation of their family.
Ian worked as a civil engineer, a role that suited his sharp mind and practical nature. He believed in doing things properly and took quiet pride in his work. He loved animals deeply and had a calm presence that made people feel comfortable and cared for.
He was a devoted father to his two children, Natalie and Scott, and a proud grandfather to his two grandsons, Dillon and Mateo, who brought him enormous joy. Above all, Ian loved his family fiercely and without condition. He will be remembered for his humor, his generosity, his intelligence, and the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
