Helen Stratford Wilkey, 96, of Portsmouth, passed peacefully on December 28, 2025.
Helen was born in Newport, RI on January 26, 1929 to Augustus E. and Jeanette Brightman Stratford. She was the wife of the late Duncan Wilkey for 63 years.
Helen was a 1947 graduate of Rogers High School. She became a licensed hairdresser and established her own business in Portsmouth. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping and riding her motorcycle. Helen was a genealogy buff and spent many hours tracing both hers and Duncan’s family trees. She was a member of the Newport Historical Society and delivered meals on wheels for many years.
Helen was sister to John, James and William Stratford. She is survived by her niece Donna Connolly and nephews Dana Wilkey and William, James and John Stratford. She also leaves Marjorie Wilkey, her sister in law and dearest friend.
