Roger Williams Park Zoo is extending the holiday cheer with free admission on Dec. 27 and half-price entry throughout the winter months.
The zoo will welcome visitors at no cost from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the free admission day and is encouraging guests to bring non-perishable food items to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Cardi’s Furniture & Mattresses is donating a truck and staff to transport all collected items directly to the food bank.
From Jan. 1 through Feb. 28, visitors can take advantage of half-price admission during what the zoo is calling “Winter Wonder Days.”
“We love giving our community more reasons to get outside and visit,” said Stacey Johnson, the zoo’s executive director. “Whether you join us for Free Day or take advantage of half-price winter wonder days admission, we’re excited to welcome everyone to the Zoo.”
The zoo is open Thursday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and during Providence school vacations. Members do not need advance tickets, but all other guests should purchase tickets online at rwpzoo.org.
Roger Williams Park Zoo is Rhode Island’s top outdoor family and tourist attraction. The zoo is supported and managed by the Rhode Island Zoological Society and owned by the city of Providence.
