The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority announced its 2026 schedule of community site visits for the reduced fare bus pass program for seniors and people with disabilities.

RIPTA customer service staff will travel to locations throughout the state each month to process photo ID bus passes for qualified seniors and individuals with disabilities who have valid documentation.

The statewide visits allow residents in both rural and urban areas to access transit information and apply for the reduced fare program without traveling to RIPTA’s Providence offices. Staff will be available to process applications and answer questions about all RIPTA services.

Photo ID bus passes for qualified individuals will cost $10 and are valid for two years.

Newport’s William Donovan Manor at 19 Chapel St. will host visits on four dates: Jan. 15, March 26, Aug. 6 and Dec. 17. All Newport visits run from 10 a.m. to noon.

Other locations on the schedule include senior centers in Warwick, Narragansett, Bristol, Westerly, Wakefield, East Providence, Coventry and West Warwick, as well as the Leon Mathieu Center in Pawtucket and Aging Well Inc. in Woonsocket.

Applicants can also visit RIPTA’s photo ID office in Kennedy Plaza in person. The office is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a closure from noon to 1 p.m. Applications can also be submitted by mail.

Dates and times are subject to change.
