Patrick Chouinard scored twice, including the lone goal of the third period, to lead Portsmouth to a 5-1 victory over RMT in an injury fund game Sunday at St. George’s School.
Portsmouth jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period. Hadrian Dougherty opened the scoring at 14:10 with an assist from Luke West, and Becket Snyder followed with a goal at 2:11, assisted by Cam Little.
RMT got on the board early in the second period when Ethan Labolita scored at 4:12 off an assist from Nathan Carpenter to cut the deficit to 2-1.
Portsmouth answered quickly. Hunter Roberts scored at 8:24 with Dougherty picking up the assist, and Chouinard added his first goal of the game at 7:37 to push the lead to 4-1 heading into the final period.
Chouinard capped the scoring at 3:52 of the third period, with Matthew Alvanas earning the assist.
Logan Garcia started in net for Portsmouth and Ben Humm finished the game in goal. Portsmouth is coached by Greg Cunningham, with assistant coaches Matt Chappell and Andrew Alvanas.
