Richard Collum Sr., 72, of Bristol, RI passed away on December 27, 2025, at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
Richard Collum Sr. was born in Newport, Rhode Island to Oliver and Carol Collum on February 11, 1953. He went to high school at Rogers High School and graduated in 1971. Richard worked as a highway maintenance operator at Rhode Island Department of Transportation for 20+ years. He was an avid softball player who enjoyed bowling, watching sports, Hallmark movies, and spending time with his family whenever he could.
Richard Collum Sr. is survived by his siblings: Tommy Collum, Sue Dixon, Pat Schaff (John), David Collum (Pam), Jean Weida (Cliff), Robin May, Kenny Collum (Colleen) sister in law Diane Collum; children: Marlo Vera (Antonio), Richard Collum Jr. (Joy), Roy Collum (Angela); stepchildren Brad and Danielle Davis; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Oliver and Carol Collum, Brothers: Robert and Steven Collum and Wife: Sherry Collum.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 2:00pm-5:00 pm at O’Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring Street, Newport, RI. Burial will be private.
