A North Kingstown man was arrested early Tuesday morning after police say he crashed his vehicle into a local coffee shop while driving under the influence.
Mark A. DeLong, 30, of Great Neck Road, was taken into custody at approximately 1:25 a.m. after his 2025 Tesla struck TLC Coffee Roasters at 3362 Kingstown Road in West Kingston, according to the South Kingstown Police Department.
DeLong refused a breathalyzer test and was charged with suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said.
“Driving under the influence of alcohol or cannabis is never acceptable,” South Kingstown Police Chief Matthew C. Moynihan said in a statement. “There is no excuse for impaired driving—use a rideshare, call a friend, or stay put. Choosing to drive impaired is reckless, and the extensive damage to this small business is a direct result of that poor decision.”
DeLong was held overnight and arraigned Tuesday morning at Washington County District Court.
