The Newport Marriott Hotel & Spa has unveiled what it says is Newport’s largest gingerbread house, featuring a 16-foot working lighthouse that ranks among the biggest gingerbread displays in New England.
The holiday centerpiece, which includes a seven-foot keeper’s house alongside the towering lighthouse, took more than 100 hours to bake, build and decorate. The structure uses more than 530 pounds of organic gingerbread and nearly 240 pounds of royal icing.
Students from Chariho High School’s Hospitality program assisted with the project, helping construct the foundation and brickwork. The students also received behind-the-scenes tours of hotel operations as part of the collaboration.
The gingerbread lighthouse is on display in the hotel’s decorated lobby through Jan. 4, 2026. Guests are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items, which will benefit the Martin Luther King Community Center.
The hotel is also offering a new Winter Wonderland Experience through Feb. 28, 2026. The package features a decorated suite with holiday trees, plush blankets, a welcome amenity and a private balcony firepit with water views.
The Newport Marriott Hotel & Spa is located at 25 America’s Cup Ave. For more information, visit NewportMarriott.com.
