The Consul General of Ireland in Boston and her staff will hold a “pop up consulate” at the Museum of Newport Irish History’s Interpretive Center on Wednesday.
Consul General Síghle FitzGerald (pronounced “Sheila”) and her team will be available from noon to 3 p.m. at 648 Thames St. for the open-house-style event. Members of the public can learn about Irish citizenship and passports, study, work, and travel opportunities in Ireland.
Guests may also explore the Interpretive Center’s exhibits, including an interactive digital display, maps, photographs and models documenting Irish immigration to Newport County from the colonial era to the present.
The event is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged but not required. To register, visit tinyurl.com/sf368exh or email NewportIrishHistory@gmail.com with your name and party size.
