IYRS School of Technology & Trades

IYRS School of Technology & Trades will host its 20th annual Career Day on Jan. 24, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon at Restoration Hall, 449 Thames St.

The event connects employers in marine trades and modern manufacturing with job seekers, including IYRS students, alumni and community members.

“IYRS Career Day is a win-win opportunity for employers, our students, and the community,” said Jen Iacovelli, IYRS director of student services. “We have 40+ companies with job opportunities from around the country that come to IYRS to recruit employees.”

Attendees can learn about job opportunities, meet hiring managers and explore businesses. Exhibitors will have access to skilled individuals with hands-on experience in boatbuilding and restoration, composites technology, marine systems and advanced manufacturing.

All IYRS programs include an externship, ensuring graduates leave with workplace experience.

Companies interested in exhibiting can contact Iacovelli at jiacovelli@iyrs.edu or 401-848-5777, ext. 209.

Organizations can become official IYRS Industry Partners by contacting Iacovelli or Director of Philanthropy Liz Isdale at lisdale@iyrs.edu or 401-848-5777, ext. 218. Industry Partners receive complimentary Career Day registration, recruitment opportunities through events and job postings, and logo placement at the school and events, including the annual IYRS gala, which attracts more than 600 guests.
