Roger Williams Park Zoo will illuminate 40 acres with millions of twinkling bulbs when the Holiday Lights Spectacular returns Nov. 28 for its annual run through Jan. 4, 2026.
The event, presented by Rhode Island Energy, will run nightly from 5 to 9:30 p.m., except Dec. 24 and 25.
Visitors can stroll glowing pathways featuring festive displays including playful penguins and shimmering snowflakes while enjoying hot chocolate, adult beverages and s’mores by the fire.

Discount Tuesdays offer $5 off admission every Tuesday night.
Character meet-and-greets will be available Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., featuring Elsa, Anna, Olaf and the Grinch.
Santa visits will take place Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Santa’s Workshop in the Zoo Gift Shop.
Nightly storytime with Roger the Red Panda mascot will present “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.
Tickets must be purchased online in advance at rwpzoo.org/holidaylights. Tickets go on sale Friday.
The event will proceed rain or shine in light to moderate precipitation.
Proceeds support the zoo’s animal care, education programs and conservation initiatives.
