After a week in Austin, Texas, where I was attending the 2025 REMAX Elite retreat, we are back to your normally scheduled programming. Spending time with some of the top agents in the country is always inspiring, and hearing about the state of other markets throughout the country is always food for thought.

This weekend’s Open House lineup across Newport County is another example and indicator that local buyer activity remains steady and in many cases, highly competitive despite the broader market headlines. Newport and Portsmouth are leading the charge once again with the most active schedules and some impressive new inventory hitting the market recently.

By contrast, Middletown and Little Compton are seeing lighter activity, with only 3 homes scheduled for public showings this weekend. Although not completely uncommon for this time of year, many sellers in our area are in the process of preparing their homes for a late-Fall or early-Winter launch. If you’re considering a move, this is an excellent time to connect and discuss your strategy for this year or if you are planning for early next.

We have several new listings coming to market this week, and preparation continues to be the key to success for both buyers and sellers alike. I will also be hosting an Open House at 78 Cornelius Drive today from 11-12:30. This is a great colonial right off of Indian Avenue.
