Rhode Island PBS to Host 'Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale' Screening at Jane Pickens Theatre

Rhode Island PBS and The Public’s Radio will present a special screening of “Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale” on Sept. 10 at The Jane Pickens Theatre & Event Center in Newport.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the screening beginning at 7:30 p.m. The event serves as a fundraiser for Rhode Island PBS, with tickets available through donation levels.

Donors contributing $60 receive one ticket, regular popcorn, a soft drink and an annual Rhode Island PBS membership that includes PBS Passport streaming access. Those donating $75 receive the same package plus an alcoholic beverage option of beer, wine or cocktail.

The evening will feature a costume contest encouraging attendees to dress in “Downton” period attire. The winner receives a “Downton Abbey” prize package.

“Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale” follows the Crawley family and estate staff as they navigate the 1930s, embracing change while leading the estate into the future.
