John Theodore “Ted” Good, 82, resident of Jamestown, RI and Williamsburg, VA died peacefully at the Rhode Island Hospital Oncology Center on August 6, 2025. Ted was born and raised in Warren, Indiana. He graduated from the Defiance College in 1965. Ted was introduced to the ocean in 1966 while serving in the US Navy. He was a Vietnam Veteran.
Ted married Sandy Del Nero in 1968. Ted and Sandy lived in Fairport, NY for over 25 years. Ted started Good Associates, an executive recruitment firm in 1980 until his retirement. Ted loved New England, the ocean and the Boston Red Sox.
Family, friends and his community, especially the Rotary gave Ted and opportunity to demonstrate the motto “service above self.”
Ted is survived by his wife of 56 years Sandy, their daughters Heather Bell (Jonathan), Stacy McOmber (David) and their four grandchildren Grace & Ella McOmber, Sadie & Aden Bell.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the O’Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring St, Newport, RI from 2:00-5:00PM.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced. Burial will be private.
