A historic residence in one of Newport’s most coveted neighborhoods has sold for $4,795,000, according to Hogan Associates Christie’s International Real Estate.

The John Easton House at 23 Catherine St. in the Kay Catherine neighborhood closed this week. Matt Hadfield of Hogan Associates Christie’s International Real Estate represented the seller.

“23 Catherine Street is the full package — location, amenities, and style,” Hadfield said. “Homes like this in the Kay Catherine area don’t come along often.”

The property features soaring ceilings, sun-filled interiors and an open-concept layout designed for entertaining. The primary suite includes a walk-in closet, steam shower and private balcony.

Outdoor amenities include a secluded pool and patio surrounded by mature landscaping. The home also offers a two-car garage with an electric vehicle charger.

The residence sits near the Cliff Walk, area beaches and downtown Newport, providing what the listing described as “a rare combination of elegance and convenience.”

The Kay Catherine neighborhood is considered one of Newport’s most sought-after residential areas for its blend of privacy and luxury coastal living.
