This spring and summer, history buffs can step back in time at the Eisenhower House in Newport’s Fort Adams State Park. The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management is offering free self-guided tours every Monday through September 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Built in 1873, this historic mansion once served as President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s summer White House. Visitors can soak in stunning views of Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay while exploring the property.
The State of Rhode Island took ownership of the Eisenhower House in the 1960s. Today, it’s a popular venue for weddings, rehearsal dinners, and corporate events.

🚨 A tragic incident at the Portuguese American Citizens Club in Portsmouth (35 Power Street) has left the community in shock. During a graduation party Saturday evening, a partial building collapse resulted in the death of a 15-year-old girl and serious injuries to three others.
