Newport Harbor Island Resort’s upscale restaurant, 1639, is gearing up to welcome diners back for the season on May 16.
The resort’s spokesperson says Executive Chef Ryan Connors has crafted a new menu that caters to all tastes, featuring everything from raw bar favorites and homemade pastas to locally sourced seafood and meats.

One of the menu’s showstoppers is the Cacio e Pepe, prepared right at your table in a wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano. For those looking to indulge, there’s an option to add brown butter king crab. Other standout dishes include the 1639 Alaskan Halibut Clam Bake and the Rhode Island Striper, which comes with summer succotash, Parisienne-style gnocchi, and a ratatouille purée.
The restaurant has also given its drink menu a makeover, now offering an inventive selection of cocktails and alcohol-free options.
1639 is open for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
If you’re eager to try out the new menu, you can now make reservations for the seasonal reopening, with the first service set for May 16.
