Theatre By The Sea is opening its 2025 summer season with a tribute to country music icon Patsy Cline. “Always…Patsy Cline” runs from May 28 to June 21, returning to the venue after a 20-year break.

Always…Patsy Cline has not been presented at Theatre By The Sea for over twenty years. In fact, it was the very last musical that FourQuest Entertainment produced during their final season in 2003,” said Bill Hanney. “I’ve always been a big fan of Patsy Cline’s iconic music. Although she left us at the young age of 30, she inspired numerous singers and was the first solo female artist elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame. I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the season than with the celebration of the life of an American icon.”

Created by Ted Swindley, the show celebrates Cline’s life and music through her friendship with fan Louise Seger. It features over 20 of Cline’s hits, including “Crazy,” “I Fall to Pieces,” and “Walkin’ After Midnight.”

Kat Moser directs the production, starring Theatre By The Sea newcomers Meagan Lewis-Michelson as Patsy Cline and Mary Callanan as Louise Seger. Both actors bring Broadway and national tour experience to their roles.

The production team includes resident scenic designer Cassie McKnight, lighting designer Paul Jonathan Davis, and sound designer Ben Scheff.

“Always…Patsy Cline” kicks off the theatre’s 92nd season, with preview performances on May 28 and 29, and opening night on May 30. Tickets start at $62 for previews and range from $65 to $91 for regular performances.

The 2025 season continues the theatre’s tradition of a four-musical subscription season, plus extra programming like a late-night cabaret series and children’s theatre festival.
