Philadelphia’s own SNACKTIME brought the sunshine—literally and figuratively—during their high-octane opening set on Day 3 of Boston Calling 2025. As the first band to hit the massive rotating main stage Sunday morning, the brass-fueled collective shook off any lingering festival fatigue with a jolt of funk, soul, and swagger that had the crowd dancing from the first note.

Fresh off a growing national buzz and riding the wave of their electrifying live reputation, SNACKTIME took command with their bold and brassy opener “I DON’T GIVE A DAMN”, a declaration of joy and rebellion that immediately pulled fans toward the stage. Their seven-piece lineup blasted through an energetic set that included festival favorite “SUNSHINE”, the fiery anthem “SNACKMFTIME”, and crowd singalong “TOGETHER.”

But it was the band’s unreleased songs—”DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF” and “ENOUGH”—that proved they’re not just riding momentum, they’re still building it. Both tracks landed with the confidence of future fan favorites, blending horn-section grooves with street-funk cool and a clear social pulse.

The crowd, many of whom may have stumbled across the band for the first time, quickly turned into believers. Fans were bouncing, swaying, and dancing on the field, and the band fed off that energy with visible joy, returning every cheer and clap with bigger solos, sharper rhythms, and infectious smiles.

“This is what it’s all about,” one of the saxophonists shouted to the crowd, grinning as a circle of fans broke into spontaneous dancing near the barricades. And truly, it was. The set felt like a living, breathing loop of mutual celebration—Snacktime giving Boston everything they had, and Boston giving it right back.

For fans who missed them or want more: Snacktime will be making their debut at Newport Folk Festival this summer on Friday, July 25, 2025, and after Sunday’s barnburner, that set promises to be one of the can’t-miss moments of the Newport Folk Festival!
