A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for parts of southern New England, with the potential for heavy snow this weekend. The National Weather Service in Boston/Norton has issued the watch for areas of northern Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
The watch runs from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon, with possible snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches (on Thursday, the forecast called for 6 to 9 inches, on Friday it called for 5 to 8 inches). The weather service warns that travel could become very difficult during this time.
