Housing Network of Rhode Island and Church Community Housing Corporation are hosting a tour of West House II, a new affordable housing development for older adults in Middletown, Rhode Island. State and local legislators will get a firsthand look at the 54-unit complex on Feb. 12, 2025, from 11 a.m. to noon at 170 Enterprise Circle.
West House II builds on the success of the original West House, offering affordable and accessible apartments for residents 55 and older who earn up to 80% of the area median income.
The complex features 40 one-bedroom and 14 two-bedroom units. To qualify, residents can earn up to $55,620 for a one-person household or $63,540 for a two-person household.
Union Studio designed the project, which was developed by Church Community Housing Corporation.
Several state legislators plan to attend the tour, including Senate Finance Chair Louis DiPalma, Representative Terri Convriend, and Representative Michelle McGaw.
The Housing Network of Rhode Island is a statewide organization that brings together 19 community development corporations and affordable housing developers. Church Community Housing Corporation, a non-profit organization, focuses on creating and preserving affordable housing in Newport County.
