The Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce is hosting an Economic Update Luncheon with Rhode Island’s Commerce Secretary, Liz Tanner, on February 12. This event is part of the 10th annual Blue Innovation Symposium at the Wyndham Newport Hotel.
The luncheon features a fireside chat between Tanner and Tobias Stapleton, Director of the Blue Venture Forum, Inc.
“We are always excited to host this luncheon for members and visitors interested in the blue economy in our Region. This year, we are particularly looking forward to discussing our efforts to support the ecosystem, both with progress made on the Ocean Tech HUB, implementing the Grow Blue strategy, expanding our work to offer soft landing for blue tech companies in our Region, and international partnerships. We have so much going on in this space! “said Erin Donovan-Boyle, President & CEO of the Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce.
“Rhode Island is at the center of New England’s blue economy ecosystem. In just the last 3 years, we have benefited from millions of dollars in public and private investment to support the growth of blue economy firms within the state. This year’s Economic Update Luncheon will take a close look at how the state plans to expand the sector even further to benefit Rhode Island and the entire Southern New England region,” said Toby Stapleton, Director, Blue Venture Forum, Inc.
The symposium runs from February 10-13. To attend the Chamber’s Economic Update Luncheon, you can sign up at www.newportchamber.com or reach out to Kate@newportchamber.com for more details.
