Newport Polo is looking for nominations for the beneficiary of its 24th annual International Polo Charity Ball. The event is scheduled for Aug. 1, 2025, at the newly renovated Rosecliff mansion.

They’re specifically interested in 501(c)3 charities that focus on environmental conservation, green initiatives, and sustainability.

Dan Keating, who started Newport Polo, says community involvement is a key part of their mission.

To be considered, organizations need to be active in Rhode Island and directly help the state’s residents. They should also have a team of experienced volunteers who can run an auction.

The yearly black-tie gala brings together hundreds of supporters, including polo players and an international team as guests of honor.

Over the past 33 years, Newport Polo has raised more than $2 million for local charities through the annual Polo Charity Ball and other fundraising events.

Recent organizations that have benefited include Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice, the Newport Historical Society, and The Jeffrey Osborne Foundation.

The 2024 event, called the Argentango Fandango Ball, celebrated the Argentine Polo Team and supported Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice.

Newport Polo might choose more than one beneficiary for the 2025 event. Interested organizations can submit their nominations through a quick online form.

There are also opportunities for individuals and businesses to support the event through sponsorships, table patronage, and auction donations. To lend your support, contact Newport Polo’s GM, Agnes Keating by email to agnes@nptpolo.com.
