After eight years serving the Newport community, Hummingbird restaurant is closing its doors. The owners, Dezna and Abe, announced the closure on Instagram Monday, citing their plans to move to North Carolina.

Located at 104 Broadway, Hummingbird has been a local favorite for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant offered both indoor and outdoor seating, along with a BYOB policy that added to its charm.

In their heartfelt social media post, Dezna and Abe expressed their gratitude to their loyal customers: “We’re so thankful for your support, friendship, and loyalty to Hummingbird. As we start this new chapter in North Carolina, we’re taking your kindness and encouragement with us.”

The owners didn’t specify the restaurant’s last day of operation in their announcement. However, they encouraged their patrons to stay in touch and follow along as they embark on their new adventure down south.
