The Narragansett Bay Symphony Community Orchestra (NaBSCO) will kick off its 2024-2025 season with a concert on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. The concert will take place in the auditorium of East Providence High School, located at 2000 Pawtucket Avenue in East Providence, RI.

The performance will feature guest conductor Zeke Fetrow and three pieces: Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “Marche Slave,” Maurice Ravel’s “Le Tombeau de Couperin,” and Florence Price’s “Symphony No. 3 in C minor.”

“Le Tombeau de Couperin,” a work in memoriam, is dedicated to the memory of Ravel’s friends who died fighting in WWI. Price’s “Symphony No. 3 in C minor” is known for its emotional warmth. Notably, Price’s first symphony was the first by a Black woman to be performed by a major American orchestra.

Admission for the concert is “Pay what you think is fair.” Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to support the RI Community Food Bank.

For more information about the concert, the 2024-2025 season, or to purchase tickets, visit NaBSCO’s website at www.nabsco.org, email team@nabsco.org, or call 401-274-4578.
