Rhode Islanders looking to save energy and money can learn about programs offered by the state Office of Energy Resources during a virtual forum hosted by the Aquidneck Island Climate Caucus on Sunday, Oct. 27.

The forum will be held on Zoom from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required and can be completed here.

Karen Bradbury, administrator of energy legislation and programs at the OER, will provide an overview of the agency and its programs for businesses, nonprofits and residents. Bradbury will discuss funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act, as well as state programs that can help Rhode Islanders save money.

The Aquidneck Island Climate Caucus is a community group formed by Representatives Cortvriend (D-Dist. 72, Portsmouth, Middletown) and Lauren Carson (D – Dist.75, Newport) to emphasize the importance of mitigating and adapting to the earth’s changing climate.

The caucus will host another virtual meeting on Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m. featuring Aquidneck Island Land Trust Executive Director Terry Sullivan. The meeting will focus on the organization’s nearly $2 million grant from NOAA’s Climate Resilience Regional Challenge to support coastal management and resilience efforts on Aquidneck Island.
