Newport’s Energy & Environment Commission will host a forum on August 8, 2024 to discuss the effects of climate change and offshore wind on fisheries and ocean ecosystems.

The event, titled “The Effect of Climate Change & Offshore Wind on Fisheries & Ocean Ecosystems,” will feature panelists from the Commercial Fisheries Research Foundation, the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Organization, and the Commercial Fisheries Center of RI.

The forum will take place in the second floor of City Council Chamber at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
