Dan Burke and the Royal Treatment

Dan Burke and the Royal Treatment, known for their dynamic blend of funk, R&B, and soul, will bring their electrifying sound and captivating stage presence to Newport on Sunday, July 21, for an unforgettable evening of music and community celebration.

Fronted by the charismatic Dan Burke, the group’s powerful vocals and tight instrumental arrangements have earned them a loyal following and critical acclaim. With Dan’s soulful voice and the band’s tight-knit rhythm section, The Royal Treatment delivers a performance that is both nostalgic and refreshingly modern, paying homage to the greats of the past while carving out their own unique path in the world of soul and R&B.

Fresh off of their recent Prince birthday tribute show at Off The Rails in Worcester, MA, Dan Burke was described as “a superb piano player and vocalist in his own right” in a recent article by Craig S. Semon for Worcester Magazine. The band’s upcoming single “My Pleasure” comes out on July 19th, a few days before their performance at Newport’s King Park.

The afternoon of music begins with a performance by The Van Pelt Duo, a brother/sister acoustic group based in Newport that are known for their powerful voices and intricate harmonies.

NIMFest, short for Newport Independent Music Festival, has become a favorite summer concert series  in Newport, celebrating local and regional artists in a family-friendly atmosphere. The event is free and open to the public, inviting music lovers from across Rhode Island to enjoy an afternoon of live music in one of Newport’s most scenic parks.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to fully enjoy the outdoor concert experience. The public is encouraged to carpool as parking is limited. Alcohol is not permitted in the park. All concerts are scheduled for 3pm to 6pm with the possibility of rain dates in September, if necessary.

The free outdoor concert series is made possible by the City of Newport, New England Music Organization and North End Entertainment thanks to a generous gift from the Hamilton Family Foundation.
