The city of East Providence is getting a new green space as the Met Links Public Golf Course will open on June 27, 2024. The opening marks the restoration of the historic golf course once designed by Donald Ross 100 years ago.
The nine-hole course will feature seven original greens from the front nine and two additional greens inspired by Ross’s design. The golf course is part of the Metacomet property, a historic venue in East Providence.
“We are honored to reopen this historic course and provide an exceptional golfing experience to the community,” said Lianne Marshall, co-owner of Marshall Properties, Inc. “We welcome golfers of all ages and abilities to come play this beautifully restored course this summer.”
Marshall Properties Inc. brought the golf course back to life, with the help of local golf course architectural firm, the Northeast Golf Company (NGC).
“The rich history of golf architecture which rests within the Metacomet property is undeniable,” said Robert McNeil, Golf Architect at MetLinks. “It is with profound respect for Donald Ross’ work and careful study of the design’s intent that Met Links has been created for all to enjoy.”
The course will be open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting. A discount will be available for East Providence residents. You can book a tee time online now.
