The Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office is charging an Arizona woman with stabbing a man while trying to rob him at the Providence bus terminal.

Dusti Turner, 35, is charged with assault with intent to rob, assault resulting in serious bodily injury, and conspiracy to commit robbery. The stabbing happened on December 15, 2023, at about 4:19 p.m. at the intersection of Dorrance Street and Weybosset Street.

Officials say officers responded to the area for a report of a stabbing. When they arrived, they located a man suffering from a stab wound to the leg. A tourniquet was applied to stop the bleeding before the man was taken to the hospital.

Surveillance video obtained from the bus terminal and the 7-Eleven across the street shows Turner following the victim, pulling their coat from behind, punching, and kicking him. The victim was able to free himself from the attack and ran towards the bus terminal. Turner then followed him before fleeing the scene towards Kennedy Plaza.

The victim told investigators that while he didn’t know the woman’s name, she was referred to as “Red” and they lived together at a residence on Dexter Street before he moved out. He was able to positively identify Turner in a lineup.

Separately, Turner was also charged with the murder of a woman who was found dead in the Woonasquatucket River on February 22, 2024. That case remains pending. She is scheduled to appear in court on June 3 for a pre-arraignment conference.
